Text Box: The Virginia District ECR is Helen Winstead Retired from Fayetteville Technical Community College in North Carolina after 23 years, the last ten years as Dean of Students. Prior experience was in the public schools of Cumberland County, North Carolina as an elementary school teacher and high school counselor for a total of 30 years. During those 30 years in North Carolina, served as President of the North Carolina College Personnel Association, President of the North Carolina Community College Student Personnel Association, Secretary of the North Carolina Specialists in Group Work, Chairperson of the Cumberland County Human Relations Commission, Member of the Region “M” Intergovernmental Agency of North Carolina and a member of the American Association of Women in Community and Junior Colleges. After moving to Georgia to help a former professor at FTCC who became a lawyer in Statesboro, Helen became involved and served as Treasurer of the Business and Professional Women’s organization. She also served as Treasurer of the Bulloch County Wellness Council, \Moderator of the Presbyterian Women of the Savannah Presbytery, Elder and Clerk of Session for 7 years, and participated in other local activities, which earned the Recognition of Unselfish Service to the People of Bulloch County and the Deen Day Smith Service to Mankind Award. Mother of four sons—a pharmacist, District Engineer with NC DOT, Systems Analyst with AT&T as well as service member in the US Air Force Reserves, and her youngest son is a member of the US Diplomatic Corp and serves in the US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan. She has three daughter-in-laws and seven grandchildren. Enjoys spending time with family, working, traveling and serving Pilot! Club: Member of the Pilot Club of Statesboro for 14 years and has served in every position except Secretary. Member of the Pilot Club of Chatham County since she helped to organize it (chartered March 30, 2007), and served as Treasurer. District: Member of the Georgia District. Served on Growth Team (2 years); Lt. Governor, Southeast Region (3 years); Governor-Elect; Governor; Membership Development Team; Coordinator for Club Operations (2007-08); PIF Representative (2008-09). International: Currently serves as PI Director. Also serves as Chair of the Membership Task Force (previously served as a member, 2005-08)..
