The Pilot Club of Harrisonburg tried a new fundraiser this fall, a Make Your Own Scarecrow Booth at a local fall festival in Broadway, Virginia. The booth's theme was "If I Only Had a Brain" combining scarecrows with Brain Awareness. For $10, children (or adults) could chose a hair color, shirt, jeans, and patches, draw a face, and stuff a scarecrow to take home. Over twenty scarecrows were assembled during the event. The club members also distributed information about the prevention of traumatic brain injury and the proper way to put on a bike helmet.
